OUR MANTRA

“Life is too short to have a bad bicycle”

This is our mantra — the guiding phrase behind every decision we make: to select only brands that share our passion for quality, design, and performance.

For us, the customer comes first. That’s why we dedicate special attention to our service and sales support departments, where we can leverage our extensive expertise in the cycling industry.

With us, you’ll never receive just any product — only the one that’s perfect for you.

SUSTAINABILITY

Our product selection reflects our commitment to partner with brands that share our values. For us, cycling is not just a business — it’s a conscious, democratic, and inclusive lifestyle.

Whenever possible, Bicycle Store prioritizes collaborating with small and medium-sized bike companies, away from mass distribution and closer to artisanal craftsmanship. We strive to choose companies that operate sustainably, promoting virtuous practices in production, material recycling, and fair working conditions for their employees.

The most sustainable electric cargo bike in the world. As the motto says, madly fair. That’s because 90% of all Muli EU components come from European production, 60% of which from Germany. The frame of every Muli model is made in Cologne from 100% recycled steel tubes.

Muli-Cycles takes responsibility for shaping a new way of doing business. That’s why the company hand- builds its cargo bikes with the help of welding robots, employing nearly 80 people in Cologne-Ehrenfeld — more local and innovative than any other manufacturer.

Some companies, including Commencal, participate in the NO CARBON initiative, choosing to work with aluminum instead of carbon for their frame production. This technical decision also reflects an environmental commitment.

It’s important to consider that carbon production inevitably has environmental and human impacts. As far as we know, many workers handling carbon in China, Vietnam, and Myanmar do so under conditions harmful to their health.

Another reason to choose aluminum is that it can be recycled and reused indefinitely, allowing companies to deliver top-quality products responsibly, ethically, and with respect for workers.

At Schwalbe, social and environmental responsibility is an integral part of the company’s structure.

The German company is committed to continuous innovation to pave the way toward a closed-loop circular economy. How do they do it?

Throughout the supply chain, standards and a supplier code of conduct are strictly followed. Additionally, Schwalbe has introduced 100% recyclable products such as the Aerothan inner tube, made from over 91% recycled materials, and the Green Marathon tire, composed of 80% recycled and renewable materials, including recycled nylon from fishing nets (Seawastex), recovered carbon black (rCB) from Schwalbe’s recycling system, recycled steel and rubber, fair-trade natural rubber, and other eco-friendly components. This tire completely eliminates petroleum-based synthetic rubber, saving resources.

Schwalbe also participates in several initiatives, including collaboration with the Fair Rubber Association, promoting fair-trade natural rubber and actively supporting better living and working conditions for rubber farmers.

The company’s most important initiative is undoubtedly the Schwalbe Recycling System.

This system allows the collection of used inner tubes and tires to recycle them and prevent unnecessary waste. The recovered materials are incorporated into new products, increasing the percentage of recycled content.

How does it work?

Participating retailers, including Bicycle Store, can collect used inner tubes of any brand from bike repair shops or from customers who can drop them off at the store free of charge. The package containing the tubes is sent to Schwalbe and sent to the recycling system.

If we truly want eco-friendly, healthy, and emission-free mobility, let's commit to leaving a planet that future generations can comfortably inhabit.

The e-bike is the means of transport that produces the least emissions compared to most motorized vehicles.
We are convinced that in the future the pedal-assisted bicycle will play a key role.
an even more important role in mobility.
Bosch develops high-quality products and increasingly focuses on ease of maintenance to ensure they last as long as possible. When it's time to replace a battery, Bosch focuses on remanufacturing and easy recycling. A circular economy also means this, but also thinking about developing new packaging and transportation concepts.

How to recycle your Bosch battery:

Bring your used battery to an authorized Bosch dealer to allow the reuse of valuable raw materials. Recycling helps reduce environmental impact and the demand for new resources. At Bicycle Store, we will take care of Bosch battery disposal free of charge. Meanwhile, let’s ensure your battery lasts as long as possible.

Since 2014, Bosch has refurbished used drive units: every component is inspected, worn parts are replaced, and defects are eliminated. The refurbished units meet the same quality standards as new ones.

If your drive unit is defective and out of warranty, Bicycle Store can install a refurbished unit instead of a new one — good for the planet and your wallet!

➡️ Bosch e-bike Sustainability

The founders of this wonderful brand are a husband-and-wife team — he manages operations, she is the designer. No big industry, no intermediaries, just people creating models that celebrate the joy of cycling, with the performance and comfort you want.

Cycology offers a wide range of recycled fabrics, including the “Reborn” clothing line, designed with sustainability in mind. The line provides all-day comfort and style by combining recycled materials with Cycology’s signature designs. The jerseys are made from lightweight, highly elastic, and soft recycled fabric, offering excellent breathability and airflow to keep your body cool and dry.

Reflective Berlin, a company producing reflective stickers designed for road safety, is socially committed on multiple fronts.

The company believes there is no Planet B and is therefore a member of the global movement 1% For The Planet, donating one percent of its annual revenue to certified environmental projects.

Production takes place in and around Berlin in an inclusive way, which means short transport distances using only cargo bikes, with no company cars. Packaging is made from recycled paper.

Reflective Berlin states: "We are and remain passionate cyclists. This is the foundation of our company’s purpose, the core of what we do. Consequently, we believe that promoting cycling is an essential part of the transition to sustainable mobility, also for climate protection reasons."
